TEACHER & STAFF PREPARATION

  • #1 HUMAN RESOURCES

VITAL HR PAPERWORK TO BRING TO TRAINING

You will have to submit things like your W-9 contractor form, your I-9 Citizenship Form, Complete Mandated Reporter Training, Sign your Tour of Duty and Download the Slack communications app. Click the link above when you have completed all items and then submit as soon as possible. Ideally, before training.

  • #2 READING

As a classical Christian teacher, reading will be a means of learning and a means of teaching, and a means for restoring the soul. WE WILL BEGIN WITH A STAPLE, THE 7 LAWS OF TEACHING by John Milton Gregory. THIS IS A GIFT TO YOU FROM US, but we also will be reading a new book called WHAT IS A REOFRMED BAPTIST by Tom Hicks. Our Parent EDU Groups will go through the distinctives of doctrine in the 1689 to help all families see the merits of the theological teaching standard of the school.

  • #3 LESSON PLANNING PREP

This year, we will be pointing all teachers to the FACTS Student Information Management System to design all Lesson Plans for not only consistency for our parents, but also for you. Below are learning resources we will go through in training, but also for you to get started. Once we set up all the new courses and the student roster, you can begin building this. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW.

  • #4 CONTINUING EDU & MINDSET

To rejoice in learning is what makes up the life of the philomath. There are numerous resources from the Association of Classical and Christian Schools that we can make available to you as you grow as a classical Christian teacher. There are even degrees and certification programs as well, but PLEASE BEGIN WITH MATT WHITLING’S LECTURE CALLED CLICK HERE TO LISTEN >>>THE SINS OF THE CLASSROOM <<<. This will orient your heart toward how we biblically give our young discipuli the blessing of obedience.

Perhaps, all of you could make coming to the national ACCS conference next year a priority. It is called Repairing the Ruins.
