CHRIST IS THE WAY

••• CHRIST IS THE WAY

Centurion Christian Classical School®, founded in 2022, will offer grades K-8 for the 2026/2027 academic year.

WE SEEK TO SERVE THE BODY OF CHRIST WITH K-12 CHRISTIAN CLASSICAL LIBERAL ARTS INSTITUTIONS FORMED for THE FUTURE OF local CHURCHes and SUSTAINED ONLY BY THE GENEROSITY OF GOD’S PEOPLE.

WE DO THIS BECAUSE CHRIST IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE

FIVE CRUCIAL QUESTIONS FOR ALL PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES

  • At Centurion, we are devoted to Christ in all that we do. Our school motto is Christus est via, veritas et vita, which means, “Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life.”

We are also a reformed Christian school, so we ask all families to believe and affirm The Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed, and to approve the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (The 1689) as the theological foundation for our school. Links have been provided for you to read and review these beautiful doctrines at your leisure.

Centurion uses the catechistic method (catechism) to train students to memorize biblical questions and answers. Our students will endeavor to memorize whole chapters of scripture and they are trained to think theologically about all subjects. Your children will be immersed in the Christian life which is full of truth, joy, friendship, prayer, repentance, and discipline.

All that we do, we do to glorify our Lord and Savior. By His grace, we pray that our efforts will effectively translate to your children and to you as their divinely appointed first educators. If you share these values and if you desire that your family and future generations be founded on the solid rock, which is Christ and His word, then Centurion is the school for you.

  • At Centurion, we believe that loving children well begins with giving them boundaries and reasonable expectations that correspond to their age and stage of development. Your children are made in the image of God and they are imbued with unique personalities, which we want to see flourish within the guidelines of godly virtue and wisdom.

Every person is born with a sinful nature, so it is expected that all children will disobey on occasion. Therefore, we believe that children especially need nurturing and effective discipline to remain on the narrow path. Centurion desires to partner with you in the discipline of your children, and as a way to honor God’s design, Fathers are expected (if possible, in your family structure) to lead in this category. If you are a single mother, we will work to support you in every way necessary as you seek to incorporate godly discipline within your family.

We do not expect children to be perfect. We do expect, however, to foster a collaborative relationship between parents and educators to love your children biblically. If this approach is something you will value and uphold, then Centurion will be a wonderful fit for you.

  • At Centurion, we desire to instill a love of learning which comes with a devotion to rigorous study. We want to uphold the highest academic standards and this means that parents are critical to ensuring their student’s success.

Once your child reaches the 5th grade and he/she begins more robust studies in Latin, history, math, and science, some parents find they cannot help as much academically, but the structure you put in place in your home to effectively foster good study habits will be a critical element in the success of your son or daughter.

You will need to sacrifice entertainment and leisure activities to ensure the work is done. To be clear, children must have playtime as part of their daily routine, so we do restrict homework so as to not excessively burden students.

Children in supportive home environments thrive within the classical method because every member of the household loves to learn, discuss, and grow from all that the child is experiencing academically and spiritually. If you will support a commitment to academic excellence, then Centurion is the school for your family.

  • Classical education is an integrated curriculum that trains children to think, awe, and express themselves in ways that typical mainstream education does not do. If you have experience with Classical education, then this question is easy for you to answer, but for those parents who attended standard public education, this question is critical. This education is very different than public education, but it is designed to do something completely different. We are devoted to making children ready to excel in the world of vocation and skill, but more importantly, we are devoted to preparing these students to glorify and meet their maker. If you understand Classical Christian education, then this is the school for you. If you need more time to research, we recommend you go to the ClassicalDifference.com to learn more.

  • The most critical element to bring about success for any child is a robust learning environment in the home. Parents who demonstrate a love for subjects such as reading, language, art, music, math, science, and history, understand the joys that come with exploring these topics even though they are not experts in any of them. If you, as parents, have a love for learning, then you are a good fit for Centurion.

ADMISSION EXPECTATIONS

  • Grammar School Admission Requirements

A student must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1 to be eligible for enrollment in Kindergarten.

    Additional Considerations

If a student has successfully completed the previous school year, and his or her academic work and conduct align with the standards of Centurion Christian Classical School, the student will be placed in the grade level for which the family is applying.

However, if there is evidence that the student is not adequately prepared for the next sequential grade level, the school may require the student to repeat the previous grade in order to ensure proper academic and character formation.

Students and families must also understand that parents entrust their authority to the school during the instructional day. Accordingly, each student is expected to submit to the instruction and discipline of his or her teachers and the Head of School.

  • Logic School Admission Requirements (Grades 7–8)

Logic School at Centurion Christian Classical School consists of Grades 7–8. Students entering this stage must demonstrate the academic readiness, maturity, and character necessary to engage the increased rigor of formal logic, writing, and Socratic dialogue.

    Additional Considerations

If a student has successfully completed the previous school year, and his or her academic work and conduct align with the standards of the school, the student will be placed in the grade level for which the family is applying.

However, if there is evidence that the student is not adequately prepared for the demands of Logic School, particularly in reading comprehension, writing, attentiveness, or disciplined study, the school may require placement in a lower grade or a period of academic strengthening before full participation.

Students in Logic School must be prepared to:

    • Engage respectfully and thoughtfully in Socratic discussion

    • Develop habits of attentiveness, diligence, and personal responsibility

    • Receive correction with humility and respond with growth

    • Speak with increasing clarity, courage, and charity

Students and families must understand that parents entrust their authority to the school during the instructional day. Accordingly, each student is expected to submit to the instruction and discipline of his or her teachers and the Head of School.

The Logic School years mark a transition from knowledge acquisition to ordered thinking. Therefore, a student’s posture toward authority, correction, and truth is as essential as academic ability in determining readiness for this stage.

  • Rhetoric School Admission Requirements (Grades 9–12 | Launching 2027)

The Rhetoric School at Centurion Christian Classical School (Grades 9–12, launching in 2027) represents the culminating stage of the classical Christian course of study. In these years, students are trained to think, speak, and live with wisdom, eloquence, and conviction as young men and women prepared to serve Christ in every sphere of life.

Admission to the Rhetoric School is not automatic. Students must demonstrate both academic readiness and proven character, reflecting the maturity required for this final stage of formation.

    Additional Considerations

Students seeking entry into the Rhetoric School must show:

    • A strong foundation in reading, writing, and logical reasoning

    • The ability to engage in thoughtful, persuasive, and charitable discourse

    • A pattern of diligence, attentiveness, and self-governance

    • A posture of humility under authority and teachability in correction

If a student’s academic preparation or character formation does not yet meet these expectations, the school may require additional preparation prior to full participation in the Rhetoric stage.

The Path to Manhood and Womanhood

The Rhetoric School is not merely an academic threshold, but a culminating season of formation. Students are expected to enter and progress along the school’s intentional path toward Biblical manhood and womanhood.

Young men are called to grow in:

    • Courage, responsibility, and leadership

    • Strength of body and clarity of speech

    • Initiative in service, protection, and provision

Young women are called to grow in:

    • Wisdom, dignity, and cultivated strength

    • Eloquence in speech and grace in conduct

    • Faithfulness in stewardship, hospitality, and care

This formation is cultivated through instruction, mentorship, ceremonies, and the ordered life of the school community.

    Authority and Responsibility

Students and families must understand that parents entrust their authority to the school during the instructional day. Accordingly, students are expected to submit to the instruction and discipline of their teachers and the Head of School.

At this stage, students are also called to increasing levels of self-governance, demonstrating maturity not merely through compliance, but through conviction.

    Final Aim

The aim of the Rhetoric School is to graduate young men and women who are:

    • Thoughtful and articulate

    • Rooted in truth and able to defend it

    • Prepared for higher education, vocation, and Christian service

    • Ready to step into adulthood with clarity of purpose under Christ

Only students who are both academically prepared and rightly ordered in character will be admitted into this final stage.

  • Parent Requirements and Commitments

At Centurion Christian Classical School, we affirm that parents are the primary educators of their children (Deuteronomy 6; Ephesians 6). The school exists to come alongside the home as a servant, not a substitute. Therefore, alignment between the family and the school is essential to the success of the student.

    Doctrinal and Philosophical Alignment

Parents should have a clear understanding of the biblical philosophy and purpose of Centurion. This includes a commitment to discipleship within the Reformed Christian tradition, where the historic creeds (Apostles’, Nicene) and the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689) are integral to the life of the school.

Parents must be willing for their children to be taught in accordance with this confession in clear, consistent, and frequent ways throughout the academic program.

    Commitment to Classical Christian Education

Centurion employs a classical Christian model of education, rooted in the liberal arts and the historic Trivium (Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric). Parents should understand and support this approach.

To that end, parents are encouraged to thoughtfully review the school’s materials and consider the following recommended readings:

    • The Case for Classical Christian Education by Douglas Wilson

    • Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning by Douglas Wilson

    • The Liberal Arts Tradition by Kevin Clark and Ravi Scott Jain

These works provide helpful insight into the philosophy and method that shape our program.

Partnership in Discipline and Academic Standards

Parents are required to support and cooperate with all written policies of the school. This is especially important in the areas of:

    • Student discipline and character formation

    • Academic expectations and work habits

    • Clear and timely communication with teachers and administration

A unified approach between home and school is critical to forming students in both virtue and scholarship.

Participation in the Life of the School

Each Centurion family is encouraged to contribute to the life of the school according to the gifts God has given. This may include the offering of time, talent, and/or treasure.

Our desire is that Centurion would function as a true community, where families labor together with joy for the good of the students and the glory of Christ.
